Chez Fish has closed! There had been talk recently that this restaurant might be the next to close. Now it%26#39;s been confirmed by one of my Seabrook Island neighbors.
I suspect this won%26#39;t be the last restaurant in the area to close its doors.
Another restaurant closesWe noticed the lack of activity when we were down there last week. We were told there were new owners that came in back in March, then don%26#39;t know what happened.
I will miss their salad w/fried goat cheese, yum!
Another restaurant closesDo either of you know the situation with Bohicket Bistro? Some comforting pasta would be nice right now, but whenever I stop by they are closed.
kiawahvilla,
This does not sound good for the bistro. The rumors I%26#39;m hearing are the banks are just showing up at restaurants and closing the doors (that line of credit thing!).
The restaurant biz is a tough one during good times. With the economic situation now, it%26#39;s anyone%26#39;s guess which restaurant will close next.
Most of the ';full timers'; living on Kiawah and Seabrook are retired with fixed incomes. My friends have already started ';pinching pennies';.
For those of us who get to visit only occasionally, it is vital to support the local businesses. Guess I%26#39;ll have to eat out more...tough job but I%26#39;ll do my patriotic duty;-)
Pinching pennies is the ';new black';.
IMO - The only restaurant that could succeed right now would be a ';mom and pop'; diner with cheap, predictable comfort food.
Oh, well .. I%26#39;m off to Newton Farms for for a can of Campbell%26#39;s soup! Keep the faith, everyone.
