My friend and I have never been to South Carolina and are flying into Charleston for 4 nights and 5 days... We would like to see/experience/enjoy as much of the area as possible... Possible ideas...
-Day trip to Savannah with 1-2 night stay in either Savannah or Hilton Head (currently have 1 night booked at Crowne Plaza HH).
-2 or 3 Nights in Charleston? (currently have 3 nights booked at Mills House Charleston). Planning to do carriage tour, ghost tour, and tours to local plantations
-Day Trip to Myrtle Beach to see area and the Brookgreen Gardens?
We will be leaving two weeks from today so any suggestions will be greatly appreciated!
Local Suggestions on Itinerary
First of all, a big southern welcome to Charleston! You will, no doubt, have a memorable stay and understand why we love it here so much.
Secondly - good on you for getting the Mills House! It%26#39;s a highly-recommended hotel for staying in Charleston%26#39;s historic district.
Brookgreen Gardens is lovely, but you don%26#39;t have to travel far to experience beautiful gardens. I%26#39;d suggest since you%26#39;re coming just prior to the end of the Charleston Candlelight Garden tours run by the Preservation Society that you stay in the city, save gas, and take the walking tour of about 10 gardens. see www.preservationsociety.org Bring good footwear, a light jacket and a flashlight if you go on the evening tour.
Enjoy the planning!
