Honeymoon in Pawleys

Hello, we will be honeymooning late October, early November in Pawleys Island. We%26#39;ve already got our accomodations, but am not sure what things there are to do. (Especially romantic things) So would appreciate any advice. I want to at least plan one really nice dinner, so what are the best posh restaurants with the best food from Georgetown up through Myrtle?

Have also considered a horse drawn carriage (maybe even to take us to dinner) Also, I know she would enjoy horseback riding, even though I%26#39;ve never done it. We both like wine tasting and tours. Any and all ideas appreciated!

Frank%26#39;s ( http://www.franksandoutback.com/ ) is probably the favorite ';romantic'; spot in Pawleys. For something extra special and a little off the beaten path, you might check with the Carriage House at Litchfield Plantation - http://www.litchfieldplantation.com/ It%26#39;s a private dining club open to plantation guests, but they have been known to make exceptions, particularly in the offseason. For either, make reservations early.

Carriage and horseback riding is tough. The Pawleys Island area is pretty much a laid back beach town. There may be some horseback riding available up around MB, but I%26#39;m not aware of it. The carriage ride will probably require a day trip to Charleston.

Thanks for the info. The horseback thing was just one hair-brained idea. Any ideas for things to do anywhere in the area, MB, Murell%26#39;s Inlet, Pawleys etc. We may take a day trip to Charleston too. Also have read about taking a ferry to Bulls Is., so any feedback on that is appreciated also.

The Bull Island ferry trip is fun if you can hit good weather. It%26#39;s a pleasant ferry ride thru the backwaters and a fun hike to the beach on Bull Island. Mosquitos can be annoying, but should be okay with your timing. A day trip to historic district in Charleston is also worth the time if you can work it in. Some other quick thoughts -

Kayak trip with Black River Outfitters, Georgetown. They offer great tours and your timing is perfect. http://www.blackriveroutdoors.com/

Bar hop along the marsh walk in Murrells Inlet. Activity will have slowed down by then, but most places will still have live bands on the weekend.

Cruise Winyah Bay and visit Shell Island (North Island) with Cap%26#39;n Rod. http://www.lowcountrytours.com/

Enjoy a leisurely day at Brookgreen Gardens. Beautiful sculpture gardens with other attractions.

Pick up a ';Fresh Yankee Served Daily'; t-shirt and a beer at Big Tuna in Georgetown. Front Street in Georgetown is also a neat place to stroll around, and they have some excellent restaurants. Our favorites are River Room and Goat Island Grill. Rice Paddy is also very nice, just a little more formal and fancy.

Another really good restaurant in a beautiful setting is Austin%26#39;s at Litchfield Inn. (Overlooks the beach from 2nd floor of Inn). Very nice for a romantic dinner. (Austin%26#39;s has 2 other locations - downstairs at Litchfield Inn - very casual - and on Highway 17 at Pawleys. The one upstairs at the Inn is definitely the nicest.
