If anybody is in Myrtle Beach now could you please tell me what the water temperature is like? Is it really cold? Also, are they any webcams that I can go to and see the beach? I am thinking about coming to MB for a week on Oct. 18th. But, I have two little kids ages 6 and 7 who LOVE the water. I didn%26#39;t know if it would be too cold for them.
Thanks for any info you can give me.

Are You In MB Now?
I%26#39;m not in MB, but...
The average ocean temperature for MB in October is in the low 70%26#39;s. Compare that to an average temp in the low 80%26#39;s in the summer. A little brisk, if you ask me. Run a tub of 73 degree water and see if your kids like it.
As for webcams, it doesn%26#39;t get any better than this:

You can control it yourself, focus in on the beach and zoom in. You won%26#39;t see many people swimming.

here are two other very good webcams:

How does the water temp. compare to the first week of April? Is it that cold or warmer?
Water would be even colder in April. What ';warmth'; there is now is from the warm summer months that heated the water.
April ocean temps will still be cold from the winter months. Late May to early June for good swimming temps.
Most pools are heated and many resorts have indoor pools. Kids would still have chance to get wet.
I AM!!!!
I can tell you . . . I%26#39;ve been here in both April and October and the water is MUCH warmer this time of year.
Two years ago we were here in April and it was so cold that we had to go out and buy sweatshirts.
We were here last April and the weather was beautiful in the afternoons but the mornings and evenings were pretty cool.
This is the first time I%26#39;ve ever come down here in October and by 10am its warm enough to get out and enjoy the beach. Just remember though that the water temps aren%26#39;t as warm as during the summer months but if you just dive right in you quickly become aclimated.
ENJOY!!!
Mid October water temps will be fine...especially for 6 and 7 year olds from the midwest. Our kids (similar age) go in the water in March and November (when it%26#39;s much cooler). Just be certain to bring towels, sweatshirts for the kids for when they get OUT of the water.
