Help! Planning vacation around jelly fish and sting rays!

We normally vacation the end of August but I know this is prime time for jelly fish. How is the end of July as far as jelly fish and sting rays go? I%26#39;m petrified of ocean creatures.

I don%26#39;t think you can plan a trip around the presence of jellyfish and Stingrays. They live in the ocean we do not.

The lifeguards do however put up signs when these creatures are present in the area you might be swimming in. So just look around the lifeguard areas for information.

Rays tend to stay away from humans however. in the celebrated case of Steve Irwin, he was actively looking for them, and he was speared by the Ray accidentally. His wound came about because the stinger went into his chest piercing his heart and lungs. He was not poisoned.

Thanks, Stan. I was trying to find the best summer weeks. I know there%26#39;s a time when jelly fish are more prevalent and I%26#39;d like to stay away from that time period if I can. I know they live in the ocean and we don%26#39;t. I was just saying how scared I am.

I have never heard of this!!! You are ALWAYS at risk of jellyfish, crabs biting and even sharks when swimming in the ocean. My friend keeps a bottle of vinegar in her beach bag just in case of a sting... Never prevents our family with a 3 and 7 yr old of going and we live 5 mins from the beach.
