Weekend trip for newly engaged couple

I have read many of the ';Things to do'; postings through this website, but I don%26#39;t feel as though they really say what a couple in their early 20%26#39;s will do over a weekend. Are there some good:

Bars?

Restaurants?

Places to go hike/hang out during the day?

Keep in mind, we are in our early to mid 20%26#39;s just looking to get away from Atlanta for a little bit. Any help would be awesome!

Thanks

I would go 30 miles north into North Carolina. Brevard/Hendersonville area are beautiful. Lots of hiking and outdoor stuff to do. For night life Asheville is real close.

Will you be here Fri through Sun? Please tell me you%26#39;re staying downtown.

Hi I think I understand what you are interested in --sort of and escape from the big city, but not too dull. Well Greenville is just the place. Throughout the spring and into the summer and fall, fairs, festivals and street entertainment are common in the downtown area. As the evening progresses many adults stroll the area of Main Street, maybe have a drenk at a bar, or select a restaurant to dine at -- often outdoors. Sections of Main Street are actually closed to traffic so you can walk down the center of the street. Many nice restaurants (not chains)do also exist ouside of the downtown area.

Many day trips from Greenville involve road trips to the mountains --it almost seems that if you are traveling from Atlanta you would want to make those independent trips - not part of your trip to Greenville

Alas, Greenville is a well kept secret because the city keeps it that way (intentionaly or unintentionally I%26#39;m not sure) If you want to find out what is happening or scheduled to happen you have to have an ';inside'; because not much is publicized -- Sometimes we are even surprised on Friday to learn what is happening on Saturday! When are you thinking of coming? I can let you know what%26#39;s going on during that time -- What kinds of food do you like?

I hope I have%26#39;nt responded too late.

jaded24fan is right. There%26#39;s alot to do a few miles north of us if you don%26#39;t mind more driving.

Also, juliet did a wonderful job describing our town. If your comming this weekend it%26#39;s the Euphoria food and wine festival downtown which should be a lot of fun.

As for 20%26#39;s crowd recommendations I highly suggest you try Chicora Alley for both eating and the bar scene(see my earlier post to tampan Sept 3rd). Liberty Tap room is also a very popular spot for the 20somethings. Great bar scene...so so food. Connelly%26#39;s is very popular as well but for heavier partying. Soby%26#39;s has a mixed age bar scene. O%26#39;s has a very cool upstairs bar, quasi-New Yorkish. Finally, The Brown Street Club has jazz and food. Cool place. Hope this helps!

My son is 22 and he and his girlfriend go downtown all the time.

They like

Chicora Alley - Pre Dinner

Wild Wings - Dinner

GSpot - After Dinner Drinks

Dixie%26#39;s Tavern - Close the night

Good luck and have fun - BE careful. :)
