Has anyone visited Hilton Head at this time period? What kind of weather cam we expect? We have booked a one week GETAWAY with INTERVAL INTERNATIONAL at MARRIOTT SURFWATCH, any opinions on that property?

Thanks

Norman: While we have not been to HHI in that time period, we have been in December over xmas and have had gorgeous weather. Here%26#39;s the site I have on my favourites and check often, especially before we are planning a trip to HHI.

and put in HHI and there is a ten day weather report

Marriott Surfwatch is the newest resort in the Marriott family there. If you put the name into the green search box in the upper left hand corner, there might be something there. I don%26#39;t think many tripadvisors have actually stayed there because it%26#39;s so new. Good for you getting in there on a timeshare exchange, I guess it is. We belong to RCI POINTS. We love HHI. Is it your first time visiting? If so, tell us what you like to do and we can certainly help with recommendations.

Thanks, Not a time share excxhange, it%26#39;s called a Getaway, you need to be an Interval member. $369 for the week, a two bedroom villa.

Our home property is Marriott Ocean Pointe in Palm Brach Shores Fl. Fabulous place.

One late-November (USA Thanksgiving) morning, we awoke to snow falling on the dunes at Kiawah. On the other hand, some years we swim in the ocean through Thanksgiving, and strong sun continues well into December. Bring layers - including a light fleece jacket, trousers, and some warm socks, just in case.

The weather is IMPOSSIBLE to predict; however, I can safely say that it will be warmer and sunnier at Hilton Head that week than it will be in Ottawa!

Thanks,

You are correct about Ottawa. I checked the average high temperatures and they are in the mid-sixties. Sort of like the weather here in late September.

I have lived here for the last five years, and have spent Thanksgiving for at least 10 years on the island.

It has been chilly, and it has been warm and swim able. Most years you can expect highs in the 60%26#39;s and 70%26#39;s and lows in the 40%26#39;s and 50%26#39;s.

I had dinner last evening with a local Marriott executive. He told me that the company is hurting because of the economy. The hotel business is quite bad, while the timeshare business is still good. The SurfWatch which is the newest timeshare now is completely sold out, except for some off times in the silver catagory. There are currently no plans for another project in the immediate area, mainly because there is no suitable land area available.

As for Surfwatch, it is a short walk to the beach, and is located in the Folly Beach area. Folly Beach is mid island and a drive to restaurants, shopping, and other attractions.
