My daughter and I had planned a college tour road trip for this upcoming weekend to ELON, NC, CLEMSON, SC, and CHARLESTON. We would rent a car in Raleigh, and visit Elon. From Elon, via 85 through Charlotte, to Clemson for a visit. Finally, on to Charleston to complete our tour. I am not sure if this is still possible given the gas shortage. Any advice? I am not concerned about the price, but want to avoid having to get gas be an issue. I would appreciate any thoughts. Thanks
Gas shortage update?
Yesterday at Costco on Savannah Highway we paid 3.59 - no lines here, plenty of gas.
Check www.gasbuddy.com for other areas.
Gas shortage update?
We just left Charleston yesterday $3.49 at Hwy 17 %26amp; Bohicket Rd.
We did have problems getting gas on our way down on Sept. 27 in the Charlotte area, don%26#39;t know if it%26#39;s any better now, we gassed up before we left SC.
We saw that one for 3.49 and my husband said ';That can%26#39;t be right'; since in Mt. P the low was around 3.66
You won%26#39;t have any problems here in Charleston with gas. Our gas comes in at the port terminal on a ship. (N. Charleston under the Mark Clark bridge) We are now helping supply the upstate and elsewhere in the state because they get their supply from the pipeline out of Georgia. :)
Here in OH this morning it was $3.23, some places less than that!!!
If the news says we%26#39;re below the national average today, you can bet your sweet bippie that tonight it will be way up there again!
There was a time when it was always 10-20 cents less/gallon in Charleston than here in midwest, not so the last few years.
I paid $3.47 out at Sams near the airport/Tanger Outs on Saturday. No lines.
On your way from Charlotte to Clemson stop in Spartanburg and check out Wofford. While you are there have lunch at the Beacon Drive-in.
