Restaurant recommendations please

I%26#39;m traveling to Charleston with two friends and looking for a restaurant for dinner with good low country food. Magnolia%26#39;s was recommended but looked a bit pricy as one woman in our group is on a budget. Can someone recommend a less expensive but still delicious alternative? Thanks for any help.

If you have a car, Mt. Pleasant is your place. I%26#39;d suggest Long Point Grill, Locklear%26#39;s, Mustard Seed to start.

If you%26#39;re staying in the city or have no car, then the Hominy Grill is reasonable and southern as are Jestine%26#39;s and Virginia%26#39;s on King. All are similar and casual, but I%26#39;d put Virginia%26#39;s in the slightly more expensive ';ladies'; dining place. Expect portions in the city to be smaller and a couple of dollars more expensive than the places I mentioned in Mt. P. (Just today we saw a sign on Locklear%26#39;s that between 5pm and 6pm they take 20% off dinners. ) To me, that would be your best deal and best food. And no, I couldn%26#39;t recommend anything on their menu as each time I go I wrestle between about 6 or 7 of my favorites! :)

Enjoy!

I would stick to Jestines.

SNOB has an express lunch that is about $10 everyday at lunch. Maybe have the Low country Cuisine then and then do a big salad or something else at dinner. Fast %26amp; French (just north of four corners) is very reasonable. The have fondue on Thursdays.

California Dreaming (just over the bridge into West Ashley) makes a great salad. Downtown, The Griffon near the big fountain on Vendue Range makes a great salad with chicken added.

In Mt. Pleasant, I would add Boulivard Diner.
