gas shortage

We are coming down Oct. 12-17 and we are getting concerned because we keep hearing the Carolinas are having a gas shortage. Has anyone had problems getting gas? Should we make sure we fill up before we hit the Carolinas?

gas shortage

I can tell you that the western half of NC is almost in a crisis due to the shortage. About 90% of the stations around Charlotte are closed. When they do get gas, huge lines form and they run out quickly. The problem may be solved by then, but right now - it%26#39;s bad.

gas shortage

Yes, it is bad from here to the carolinas. Only about 1 in 10 stores have it here. My in-laws live in charlotte and it%26#39;s the same there. When you do find somewhere it is crazy, we have police directing traffic around the stores and keeping people from fighting and cutting in line. Hopefully it will get better any day.

There haven%26#39;t been any issues here. Gas prices have even begun to fall. I have seen it as low as $3.59.

Any gas issues along I-95 -in Virginia, North Carolina and than Route 501 to MB

We just got back from NMB last night - no problems with gas.

Traveling down I77 we got gas in Wytheville VA - all the stations were open and gas was $3.57. From Wytheville to NMB is ballpark 325 miles, (depending on which route you take) so we made it to the Beach without needing any other gas stops. All the stations I saw in MB were $3.57 to $3.64 - and none had any lines.

While we did not go thru Charlotte, gas was in the $3.90%26#39;s at the Central North Carolina stations we passed. Sounds like Bud41 has hit it on the head - avoid Western NC and you%26#39;ll be fine.

We never saw a station anywhere with lines or an ';out of gas'; sign.

Just returned from North Myrtle this morning. We found not only that gas was easy to find but it is cheaper than home! We saw one gas station that was out of gas but chalked it up to being a Mom %26amp; Pops store that decided not to spend the big bucks to refill their tanks.

I don%26#39;t think you have anything to worry about at all. Enjoy your vacation!
