Hi: I have looked back in the forum for about 10 pages and could not find any specific information for weather in November.
We will be visiting for the first time, arriving in Charleston from CLT on Monday, Nov. 2. We will stay 4 nights in Charleston, travel to Savannah and stay 2 nights, travel to St. Augustine for 1 night and on to visit friends in St. Cloud.
I imagine Florida will be warm, but what should we expect for Charleston and Savannah? I am opting for shorts and capris for day and capris or slacks for night. Would this work? We plan to do the usual tourist stuff and hope to play golf at least once.
We have reservations for Hank%26#39;s. Is casual dress okay? Where would you recommend for a nice steak/seafood dinner for another night?
Thanks so much for any info. I am amazed at the wonderful help this forum provides for visitors to the area. It has been so much fun reading all the reports. Renny
weather and dress informationYou should be prepared for anything from about 80%26#39;s daytime to 50%26#39;s nighttime. The clothes you described are fine.
Hanks is nice casual, I%26#39;d say (ie: golf clothes). Oak Steakhouse is great but one of the priciest. Peninsula Grill is great too. If you like French food and live music, Mistral is nice. You might also really enjoy 82 Queen, which has more southern and fish selections but I%26#39;m sure has steaks too (though I have to admit I never spend any reading time on the meat side of any menu so I%26#39;m not the best person to ask!)
Enjoy - you%26#39;ll have a great time.
Oh - click on Restaurants (left column) and then Restaurant Links for more details on the restaurants I%26#39;ve mentioned and many others, too.
weather and dress informationThanks, Culture Hound for your very helpful information.
I will check out the site for the restaurants. Like you, my husband always chooses fish. Because we eat so little meat at home, I like to be able to have a nice filet mignon or similar, once in a while.
Looking so forward to our trip. Renny
