We are spending 2 weeks in Novermber @ Ocean Palms Resort. Can anyone give me some information on booking golf games, as the Rental Condo we have includes golf privileges
Ocean Palms Golf
Your privileges extend to the Port Royal courses. There are three, Planters Row, Robbers Row, and Barony.
Each month one of these three is closed to the public, for the exclusive use of the club membership. Which one it will be in November, I don%26#39;t know.
Planters Row is a typical resort course, with most of the holes going back and fourth. The final two holes wind around the ';Island Links'; timeshare.
Robbers Row is a links style course. It was redesigned by Pete Dye a number of years ago. The ninth through eleventh hole follow the real ';robbers Row'; which was a street outside a civil war fort where Suttlers sold their wares. The 12th and 13th holes take you through the ruins of the fort. Finally the 15th hole has you tee off over a marsh with an old fashioned oyster boat in the water.
My personal favorite is Barony. The 7th and 8th holes wind around Ocean Palms and Royal Dunes. On the back nine you have glimpses of the ocean at 13 and 14.
As far as booking, you will probably have to do it through the Westin Hotel, who administers Ocean Palms.

Ocean Palms Golf
Beachpeople: We stayed at Ocean Palms Resort over xmas last year. Very beautiful and clean villas. We had a 2 bed/2 bath villa near the end of the complex. The resort is really tucked away in Port Royal Village. When you check in they will give you a package and the phone number will be provided to book tee times. The Port Royal Clubhouse is gorgeous and my husband said the meals are quite reasonable. We booked our villa through an RCI Points exchange and golf was included for us as well. You do have to pay a $35 golf cart fee though every time you book a tee time. Still extremely reasonable. I know Stan said that one of the three courses is always closed for member play only, but that was not our experience in December. My husband could book any of the three he wanted and the Shipyard courses as well. He didn%26#39;t play the Shipyard courses that time, but he did play them in March when we stayed at Egret Point in Shipyard Plantation. He preferred the Shipyard courses. So, if you get a choice, try the Shipyard course as well.
Enjoy!
Hope this helps,
D in Muskoka (home of world class golf!)
