I am currently in Hilton Head staying in the Palmetto Dunes area for my honeymoon and me and my new husband really want to take a dolphin tour tomorrow. I have read several things about Commander Zodiac but have also been reading about the Vagabond Cruises sunset dolphin sail and am just wondering which one is better. Does the Zodiac have any sunset cruises? Does it also leave from Harbour Town as the vagabond cruises? We want to be in the Sea Pines area because we want to go to the Salty Dog Cafe for lunch. Just looking for any additional info anyone can offer on the two dolphin cruises...thank you in advance for the help:)
Commander Zodiac vs. Vagabond CruisesI%26#39;m not sure about Vagabond but I can tell you that you will not be disappointed with Zodiac. My family and I went out with them last week and it was awesome. The guide was so friendly and full of information. The boat is small so it was just my family of 5 and the guide. We have been on other dolphin cruises in other places but this beat them all by far. The kids can%26#39;t stop talking about it. The dolphins were literally right by our boat and we saw tons of them. I%26#39;m not sure about the sunset cruise, just call and ask, but I do know that they have a 1 hour cruise and a 2 hour one (the 2 hour stops on Daufuskie Island to hunt for shells). To my knowledge they do not leave from Harbour Town but from South Beach Marina (which is in Sea Pines and only a few minutes drive away from Harbour Town). Also, the Salty Dog Cafe is right beside Zodiac Cruises.
Commander Zodiac vs. Vagabond CruisesStategrl: I just found this link and thought that you might find it interesting. Lots of stuff with phone numbers right at your fingertips, from Comedy Shop to Dolphin Tours to Restaraunts. BTW: The Spice Restaurant that is on this site looks interesting, especially if you%26#39;re on your honeymoon.

As for the Commander Zodiac, I highly recommend that dolphin tour. We did it in March and had a blast. They only book 6 people on the tour, so chances are, this time of year, it%26#39;s probably not to busy. The guide takes you to where the dolphins are/can been seen, not on a preset course. You sit on the sides of the zodiac and zoom out to the dolphins, so there%26#39;s a bit of excitement involved there. The phone number is included for C.Zodiac in that link above. If I remember correctly, if you take your Sea Pines Gate Pass with you, they will reimburse your $5.00 and the Salty Dog Cafe is right at the same wharf as the C.Zodiac. The Wreck of the Salty Dog is also there. They usually have well priced early bird specials. Both attractions are at the South Beach Marina, past Harbourtown, but you can hit Harbourtown as well, since you have paid the gate fee to get in.
Hope this helps,
D in Muskoka. PS: I would phone ahead as they may be operating on an ';off season'; basis.
