for culture hound - can't seem to reply to your messages

Hi Culture Hound - I tried to reply to you privately on this site, but I get an ';error on page'; message on my computer and the reply won%26#39;t send.

I reserved a marsh view room at shem Creek and very much appreciate your help on this.

I heard there is a combo tour of harbor cruise and carriage ride. This sounds fun. What do you think?

I also want to ask your expertise on dining. My husband and I usually try to stay within a budget when traveling so we may have more travel opportunities, but we will splurge when necessary. We will be celebrating our 46th wedding anniversary Oct. 27. We also appreciate casual places with good local food.

do you think 1-1/2 days (Oct. 27 afternoon arrival and Oct. 29 departure) is enough time to spend in Charleston?

Is it possible for you to email me directly?

sandlink@bellsouth.net

I have many questions and would also like to offer to return the favor if you should travel to Southeast Florida.

Thanks so much.

Karen Sandlin

I think you%26#39;ll be very happy to be at the Shem Creek Inn vs. the Sweetgrass Inn. Shem Creek is in a much more lively, fun area, and great restaurants are not only within walking distance but there are some fantastic places within a mile or so (plus you%26#39;re so close to the beach)

For a special dinner, I%26#39;d definitely hit one of Charleston%26#39;s best (and there are many). (some favorites that keep popping up here are Hank%26#39;s, 82 Queen, SNOB, Magnolia%26#39;s, Mistral, Peninsula Grill, Oak Steakhouse. Mt. Pleasant has good choices for nice, value restaurants - some casual, some fancier. I like: Mustard Seed, Long Point Grill, Locklear%26#39;s, Boathouse, and have heard great reports about red Drum Gastropub, Crave and Abe%26#39;s Oyster House. Since you%26#39;ll be at the Creek you can eat casual food at Vickery%26#39;s - be sure to sit on the deck in the back (or just go for drinks ont he back deck for a gorgeous sunset view).

Re: Southeast Fl - just last week I was in Lauderdale by the Sea - I know the area pretty well - especially the hospitals - (extended family illness caused us to travel there often).

No, by no means do I think that 1 1/2 days is enough but you might not really have an option.

If you still would like my email, I%26#39;ll PM you. :)
