We will be in Charleston in a few weeks (Oct 16-20) and we will be celebrating my husband%26#39;s birthday and our 1 year anniversary (of meeting). Any suggestions of something special I can do for him? We will be staying at the Fulton Inn and will have a rental car.
Looking for something romantic
Definitely a carriage ride, and dinner at either 82 Queen or Mistral. 82 Queen if it%26#39;s nice weather to sit outside; Mistral for French cooking and live jazz.
Sure there are LOTS of nice restaurants - but some of our casual ones - and some outside the city - are fantastic as well. Since you will have a car, try to get out to Shem Creek at least for sunset and cocktails at either Vickery%26#39;s outdoor bar or at Red%26#39;s. Lots of fun casual places - like Poe%26#39;s near the beach or the Boathouse at Breach Inlet (some say Breech - depends on which map you look at).
For other ideas, look at the sections under ';Things To do'; and ';Restaurants'; (and select ';Restaurant Links';). Definitely print a map and you should realize that even in traffic, going from Market St downtown to Shem Creek is about a 10 minute drive (not even).
