north charleston vs. downtown

I am looking at renting at condo in november for 4 nights, and north charleston is a lot cheaper than downtown. Does anyone know how far that would be from downtown or if its a decent area? Its only 2 miles from the airport. We%26#39;ll have a rental car, but we%26#39;ll have to take cabs at night to go downtown. Just not sure if its worth the extra money to stay downtown....Thanks.

Charleston on this plan. (look at my previous posts - I never get bossy but this time I have to - sorry!) Tell me what number you%26#39;re looking to pay per night, your actual dates, and I%26#39;ll help you find some place SAFE and, net net, cheaper. (AND WAY MORE FUN!)

Also - did you know you won%26#39;t need a rental car in Charleston at all? Just take a shuttle in and relax! No car to park or to pay for.
