Where to Park in Charleston?

Where is the best place to park for the day in downtown Charleston? I want to do a walking tour of the downtown.

Where to Park in Charleston?

You can almost always park for free on Murray Blvd. If you do a mapquest of the city (and you should) the parking of which I%26#39;m speaking starts around Battery Park (White Point Gardens) which is at the tip of the peninsula.

If you don%26#39;t find anything there, Charleston has numerous parking garages. None of them look like garages from the outside - they%26#39;re designed to blend in to the historic nature of the city - but look for the ';P'; signs. There is a garage every few blocks above Broad St.

Enjoy!

If you do end up in a garage, the garage at Cumberland and Church Street is the most centrally located for getting around the historic district. It%26#39;s 1 block off Market Street. From there it is also an easy walk South to the Battery, East to the Harbor, West for King Street Shopping or North to the design district and some of the more hip restaurants/bars.
