Any suggestions for packing greatly appreciated, leave next Wednesday for two nights in Savannah, then a week in HHI at Marriott Barony Beach Club. Here is what I am planning on so far:
toiletries
underwear
2 bathing suits
2 pairs shorts
2-3 polo shirts
5-6 tee shirts
jeans (wear on plane)
white cotton knit slacks (for nice dinner places)
tennis shoes (wear on plane)
Teva sandals
light weight windbreaker unlined
maybe 2 light-medium weight long sleeved shirts
This is pretty much it, I am female and appreciate the posters who helped me with a previous post.
Live in Southern California and the LA Times does not list weather for Hilton Head or Savannah, closest I can get is Charleston, and it is looking real good right now, realize it is too far out to get a long range forecast but suggestions appreciated.
Have also been checking these forums for suggestions of what to do and places to eat, very helpful.
Packing for Hilton Head - Next WeekYour%26#39;e looking good. We are casual here. So you don%26#39;t need to dress up.
One suggestion; Consider a night at the theatre. the Arts Center is presenting La Cage next week. Director Casey Colgan is quite talented, and his shows are always appreciated.

Packing for Hilton Head - Next WeekHi Stan,
Thanks for the great suggestion, we%26#39;ll seriously consider it and ask at the Marriott about the schedule when we check in. Sounds like it would be a lot of fun.
The other things we are thinking about is a trip over on the ferry to Daufuskie Island and possibly a trip to Beaufort. Someone else on here also recommended a zodiak dolphin tour and that is also on our list of stuff to do.
Looking forward to the trip, never been to that part of the world before, I guess the closest beach on the east coast we have been to would be either Virginia Beach one night, and Chincoteague (husband is from Virginia). Hopefully the water is still nice and somewhat warm.
The weather should be typical for this time of year - gorgeous. Water should still be warm.
I compared your list to my list - not everyone takes these things but for what it%26#39;s worth...
sunscreen, hat, beach cover up, beach towel (you might not have a ';real'; beach towel otherwise), sunglasses, night shirt, beach book or puzzle book, map of area with points of interest pre-marked
I%26#39;m assuming the tevas you%26#39;re ok with getting wet (just in case)
Just my 2 cents...I%26#39;d wear slip=on sandals for the plane and pack a pair of socks to wear (planes get cold) since going through security it%26#39;s a pain to take off tennis shoes)
PS - definitely take a day trip (leave early) to Charleston if you can fit it in. When you get there, take a carriage ride, have a nice lunch, take a civil war tour or just walk around the tip of the peninsula yourself. It%26#39;ll be a long day but you%26#39;ll see enough to want to come back!
Enjoy - it sounds like you%26#39;ll have a terrific trip!
Thanks CultureHound,
We actually wanted to fly into Charleston rather than Savannah, but either the price was good but the schedule terrible, or vice versa. My husband has a cousin in Charleston, he and his wife have a house in the historic district. But they may come and visit us for a day or two.
Maybe we%26#39;ll go to Charleston instead of Beaufort.
Yes indeed, have sunscreen and visor and other stuff permanently packed in my suitcase, our normal vacation spots are Hawaii, Yucatan, Costa Rica. I%26#39;ll just buy a cheap beach towel there if Marriott does not provide, thanks.
Thanks again for the great suggestions, the folks here at TA are so helpful.
