My husband and I are heading to Charleston next week for a quickie trip...we%26#39;re doing Savannah, too, so we only have a day and a half in each town. We%26#39;re huge food fanatics so in this short time we want to make sure to hit up all the best and authentic Charleston restaurants.
If you were to only pick a couple of your favorite lunch and dinner places, where would you go as a local? We%26#39;re trying to avoid the tourist traps.
Also, things to do would be great to know, too.
Thanks in advance for the feedback! We can%26#39;t wait to visit.
Where do the locals go?
Sounds like a fun trip. In Charleston I recommend Tristan for lunch if you want an incredible burger or 3 course pre-fix menu, Magnolias if you want low country cuisine. I go to Savannah a good bit on business and always stay at the Planters Inn on Reynolds Square and eat at the Olde Pink House right next door. Hueys up right by the river has excellent New Orleans cuisine as well...Gumbo is fantastic.

The hyperlink in my last post actually went to the Tripadvisor page for the Planter%26#39;s Inn that is in Charleston instead of Savannah...here is the correct page.

Thanks JT! I%26#39;ve been doing some research and it looks like Magnolias is definitely a must as well as the Olde Pink House in Savannah. Thanks for the info.
I take it you%26#39;re a fisherman from your profile pic? My husband is wanting to try out the fishing while we%26#39;re there, too. I told him he could bring one pole since we don%26#39;t have much time on our trip. We heard that Folly Pier is a good spot for pier fishing. What do you suggest? He likes salt water--redfish, speckled trout, etc.
Lunch - Hominy Grill or Cru Cafe;
Dinner - Peninsula Grill, 82 Queen, SNOB, Magnolia%26#39;s, Circa 1886, Mistral
Thanks CultureHound!
